About the Artist

Colorado native, Adrienne Weber, graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Studio Arts(with an emphasis in Painting and Art History) and Psychology.  She earned her Elementary and Art Teaching Certifications and went on to teach Visual Arts in the St. Vrain Valley School District and Visual Arts and Gifted and Talented in the Salida School District. Her desire to help others develop artistic skills has led her to teach private art lessons to both children and adults.

After retiring from public education, she began pursuing her passion for plein air painting.  She enjoys traveling to landmarks and capturing the essence of the location.  She has spent time exploring her own individual practices with water-mixable oil paints and has developed a quality of gentleness when capturing the light and shadows that play upon the shapes and forms of the landscapes and wildlife that define her work.  Her paintings lean toward the style of Realism, depicting nature with close attention to detail and capturing the light and atmosphere of the scene. She enhances her paintings with spiritual, historical, and cultural elements, adding deeper meaning and context to her work.

Adrienne has fun switching her palette from the blues and greens found in her Colorado landscapes to the desert reds and oranges of the iconic sandstone buttes found throughout New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona.  She has painted some of the Southwest's most iconic landmarks at Georgia O’Keeffe’s beloved Ghost Ranch, Chaco Culture National Historic Park, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mesa Verde National Park,  Monument Valley, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon National Park.

Adrienne has exhibited her work locally, regionally, and nationally, including at the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) in Jackson, Wyoming, where her painting “Tincup Pass, Colorado” was part of the Above the Clouds: Art of the Alpine Exhibit in the summer of 2022.  Recently, she was one of sixty-six plein air artists preserving Route 66 landmarks in The Mother Road-Open Air, Open Road Exhibit at the Sunset Gallery in Amarillo, Texas.
