About the Artist
Colorado native, Adrienne Weber, graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Studio Arts with an emphasis in painting and art history. She earned her Elementary and Art Teaching Certifications and went on to teach Visual Arts in the St. Vrain Valley School District and Visual Arts and Gifted and Talented in the Salida School District. Her desire to help others develop artistic skills has led her to teach private art lessons to both children and adults.

Adrienne is currently the long term elementary art substitute in the Salida School District. She enjoys lighting the spark in her students minds and hearts. Her encouragement gives them the courage to use their imagination and to think creatively. Sharing her passion for art history as well as art production brings her great joy.

In 2014 she decided to follow her passion for plein air painting full-time. When she travels she paints and visits art museums which give her insight into other artists' styles, techniques, and cultural influences. She has spent time exploring her own individual practices with water mixable oil paints and has developed a quality of gentleness when capturing the light and shadows that play upon the shapes and forms of the landscapes that define her work. She enjoys researching spiritual, historical, and cultural information for each painting she creates which add deeper meaning and context to her work.

Adrienne has fun switching her palette from the blues and greens found in her Colorado landscapes to the desert reds and oranges of the iconic sandstone buttes found throughout New Mexico and Arizona. She has painted some of the Southwest's most iconic landmarks at Georgia O’Keeffe’s beloved Ghost Ranch, Chaco Culture National Historic Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Hovenweep National Monument, Monument Valley, Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, and the Grand Canyon National Park.

Adrienne has exhibited her work locally, regionally, and nationally including the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) in Jackson, Wyoming where her painting, “Tincup Pass, Colorado” was part of the Above the Clouds Art of the Alpine Exhibit in the summer of 2022. She has judged various art exhibitions including the Colorado State Fair Decorative Arts and Colorado State University 4-H Competitions. She finds it rewarding to give back to the community by encouraging others to pursue their passions in the field of art.
